Magical Forecast: December 2016

4th Wednesday of the Month: spell planning guide for next month

Greetings and Salutations! The year is coming to a close, and Mercury has decided to ride it out backwards. As I warned you last month, there isn’t as much of an abundance of magical working opportunities like we had in October and November; however, the month is not without promise!mfd1

As usual, check a local moon calendar for the actual time things are happening in your time zone! Particularly be aware of moon Void of Course this month, because we have a couple of long VOC periods.

December opens with a Waxing moon on a Thursday, and the moon sign is Capricorn. Great time for spells in which you’re seeing long-term success. Career spells are well suited for this time. If you’re looking for a job or promotion, or to expand your business or client base, take advantage now!

If you happen to need to cast a spell on any of your technology, Saturday the 3rd would be a good time. Use the power of Saturn to push it through successfully. Perhaps take a moment to cast a spell on all your electronics and devices to protect them from the upcoming Mercury retrograde, when electronics tend to have break-downs.

Monday the 5th will be great for dream work and divination this month. If you need answers, now is the time to seek them.

The 7th-8th there’s a long Void of course moon period to watch out for. At this point, we’re getting ready for Mercury to start his ol’ backpedaling. The shadow of MRx is already coming upon us.

mfd2However, if you do have any long-term projects that are going to require stamina and you want to shoot a magical push that way, you’ll want to do it in Sunday the 11th. The moon is in Taurus, great for the long haul, and the Sun’s day gives a nice burst of power. This timing is especially suited for practical matters: the home, career, material possessions, financial issues and health.

The 15th-16th brings another long VOC to avoid.

The Full Moon is in Gemini this month, which is not good energy for long-lasting things. Gemini is fickle. But, if you do need a burst of luck, like for a one-shot deal (gamble, exams, etc.), go for it.

By the 19th, we are in full-out Mercury retrograde, which means spells can be extremely tricky. Not that MRx is the end of the world or anything; no zaps of lightening are going to come from the sky. But that retrograde energy of Mercury can be tricky to work with, even for the most experienced spellcasters.mfd3

There are times when you can take advantage of MRx.  One good example is Tuesday the 20th. The moon is waning and in Libra. If you have a life situation that has just not been going in a good direction, you might borrow some of that ‘reversal’ energy from MRx and try to tip those Libra scales in the other direction. With a bit of Mars energy afforded (being a Tuesday), it could work.

Happy Winter Solstice! Sit back and enjoy this solstice with peaceful meditations. Don’t try to go deep or accomplish anything; just allow yourself to soak in the peace, good will and joyful energies that practically the whole world is humming with this week.

Come and spend the Solstice with me!

Suffering from a bad break-up or loss? Then Friday the 23rd, with a little help from Scorpio and a little help from Mercury Rx, you might be able to turn things around for yourself. I’d work on something simple to just cut the ties that bind so you can get over the past and prepare to move on.

The final week of December, from the 25th on, is not a good time to trust messages or signs that come to you. There is a high chance of miscommunications, of being misled, of misreading the situation. Just take note for now; re-evaluate the information at a later date, when Mercury turns around and heads direct again. For now, just try to have a peaceful and quiet rest of the year.

With the winter holiday season coming to a close, as well as the year, let yourself relax, rest and recharge as a new cycle begins.

Magical Forecast: November 2016

4th Wednesday of the Month: spell planning guide for next month

So here we are, and it is the splendid month of November, and it actually looks very good in terms of spell planning. In fact, it looks MUCH better than December will be, due to that pesky Mercury going retrograde again, so if you really need to get something done, you should not wait— jump on it in November.

Reminder: always check with your local moon calendar guides for exact timing and avoid planning your magic while the moon is void of course!

nmf1As the month opens we’ll be seeing the glorious waxing crescent in the sky. On Tuesday the 1st of November, draw from the strength of Mars and Jupiter; it is a good time to cast a spell for success in competitions or physical challenges. Spells at this time will give you a boost to help you get out of the gate running, so to speak. Alternatively, if you’re starting any new magical or metaphysical pursuits, you can give yourself a powerful boost here too with a spell for success.

If you need any career spells– new business ventures, new business openings, getting a job, getting a promotion, etc. — then Thursday, November 3 is the best possible day for it.  It’s a waxing moon on a Thursday in Capricorn, so you have the energy of Jupiter and Saturn behind the growing moon. This is good stuff for any ambitious career goals!

That Capricorn energy is carrying over all the way through Saturday, November 5th., a good day for casting spells if you need to exert controlling energies over someone. This is not a day for gentle manipulations or urgings; this is not a honey I need you to finish your chores kind of manipulation. This is more of a boss, I need you to stop sexually harassing me or bully, I need you to back off kind of manipulation. Whenever you’re attempting to exert influence over someone, you have to consider ethics; however, there are times when you have a right to  protect yourself or stand your ground. Use this magical timing wisely.

By the morning of Sunday, November 6th through Monday the 7th, all that harsh, aggressive energy of Saturn will be washed away by the Sun and Moon. The moon enters the sign of Aquarius, so these are good days for humanitarian causes. If there are problems in the world or in your community that sadden you, this is a great time to lend your positive energy towards a solution. On another note, it’s also a good time to solve any technology problems you might be having. Cast spells on glitchy computers or poor nmf2internet connection to try and give it a little boost.

Need to do some POTION BREWING? Plan a potion brewing night for Tuesday the 8th or Wednesday the 9th.

The FULL MOON falls on November 14, a Monday. The moon will be in Gemini. This is a perfect full moon for giving a boost to old magic. It’s not so good for starting new things– Gemini’s fickle energy will not provide for long-term success when it comes to new things. But it’s just perfect for re-charging magic that’s been fizzling: give a boost to a honey jar, your charm bag or Witch’s ladders.

Planning a wedding soon? Wednesday the 16th, when the moon enters Cancer and you’re still riding the tail of the Full Moon energy, this is a good day for spells to help it make things go smoothly. Note, this is not for magic to help the bride and groom’s relationship; I’m talking wedding planning spells– getting the venue you want, making a good deal with a baker, and other such wedding details.

However, if you do need to bust through some relationship obstacles, Friday the 18th of November is your best bet. Spells to break out of a rut, rekindle the flame, put problems to rest, etc. will be ideal for this waning moon in Leo. Channel your passion for your partner into resolving that which  might break you apart.

Struggling with fertility issues? Try to banish them on Friday, November 18th, when the moon is in Virgo and we enter the Sun sign of Sagittarius.

Wednesday, November 23rd is a very useful day, magically speaking, if you’re stuck in a bind– literally. Is there a contract you’re trying to break, a deal you’re trying to wiggle out of, some agreement from which you need release? The moon is in Libra and it’s a Wednesday during a waning moon– perfect to break the ties that bind.

nmf3Here in America it is, anyway. Are you cooking, or bringing a dish? Then you need to consider doing some Thanksgiving magic for your holiday! All you  Kitchen Witches, check out my Hubs here:

Kitchen Witchery for Thanksgiving

Wishbone Magic for Thanksgiving

Powerful banishings for just about any serious problem are best performed on November 26. This is not for minor problems, but to blast through some major obstacles: addiction, disease, curse breaking, etc.

Finally, if you have some heavy-duty pathworking or divination work to do, November 28-30th, right over the new moon, is just what you are looking for.

That’s it for November 2016’s magical potential! So get out your spellbooks and do some planning– because, remember! By mid-December we’re going to be heading into that Mercury retrograde pre-shadow. While that doesn’t mean you can’t do magic at all, your options are going to be more limited.

Magical Forecast: Oct. 2016

4th Wednesday of the Month: Your Magical Forecast for October of 2016

Hello to my Witchy friends! After last month was a bid of a dud (magically speaking, of course) with Mercury doing his retrograding thing, you’ll be happy to know that the magical forecast for this month is very, very promising! Lots of great energies abound here for spell casting, so get your wands ready!

Just remember that every couple of days the moon goes void-of-course for a few hours, so check your local moon calendars and avoid casting during those hours!

As we head into October, we’re coming right off the heels of a dark moon and into the lady-moonwaxing half of the cycle. This means for the next couple of weeks, timing will be most favorable towards spells that involve growth, increase, beginnings and other constructive goals.

Right from the get-go we’ve got Sunday October 2 and Monday October 3 with the new moon in Scorpio. If you’ve been trying to unravel a mystery or discover a secret, if you’re worried someone has been lying or deceitful, this timing couldn’t be more perfect for you. It’s ideal for casting spells to shed light on a problem or to bring the truth to the surface.

If you’ve got any travel plans coming up and you want to do spells for it— Wednesday, October 5, the moon is in Sagittarius. It’s a good day to cast spells to make a long-desired trip a reality. If you’ve got travel plans (for the holidays, perhaps, over the next couple of months), make a mojo bag to help your journey go smoothly with minimal fuss and muss, and no unforeseen expenses.

That Monday, the 10th, the moon moves into the sign of Aquarius. This day will be great to hj_edited-1set aside to do some relationship magic. This is not for dating or romance, this timing is best for family, friends, neighbors, people you work with—anyone with whom you hope to get along with a wee bit better.

Consider making a honey jar to ‘sweeten’ yourself to that person who has been on your case or making things difficult. If there’s been strife in the home or office, perform some cleansing and cast a spell for peace and harmony: candle magic, herbal petition, witch’s ladder—whatever you prefer.

Have you lost something? If you’ve been trying to find a lost object, then Wednesday, October 12 will lend the best energy to any spell you might cast.

For those singles looking for a fling or to meet a possible hook-up, Friday the 14th is a good time for lust spells. Avoid love spells— the energy this day lends will make things heat up quickly and powerfully, but they’ll fizzle out just as swiftly. It’s best for people not looking for strings attached.

The Full Moon is Sunday, October 16, and this particular Full Moon is in Taurus, making it most ideal for starting new projects that are going to take a long time to finish. If you want cmto start a business, a new health regime, a creative project, a home-improvement project, this day can aid magic towards those aims.

This full moon is also going to be great for money spells that involve growing a business, investment or increasing savings. If you have material needs—especially for things for your home—now is the time to cast for it.

Calling all writers! Be ready for Wednesday, October 19th! The waning moon is in Gemini and it’s a great time to help you cast spells that give you the oomph for finishing old projects. If you’ve been stalled on something or procrastinating, spells can help push you over the finish line.

It is not a good time for starting new writing projects, however, so put that off till next month!

Dealing with minor relationship problems? Perhaps you’ve been hot-headed, stubborn, in a rut, having trouble communicating or expressing your feelings?  Banish those things that are creating disharmony in a relationship—just make sure you get to the root of the problem! The moon is in Cancer and Friday is the Goddess Venus’s day, making it a good time for dealing with matters of love.

Sunday, October 23 is a great moment if you are trying to intimidate leosomeone. This is certainly magic I wouldn’t take lightly, but the Sun’s day in Leo while the moon is waning is a good time to borrow some of the strength and ferociousness of a lion. This isn’t meant to hurt anyone; it’s only meant to frighten them with your roar— to make bullies and troublemakers think twice about messing you. Use this energy responsibly.

If you’ve been dealing with a moderate to serious health problem, Tuesday, October 25 when the moon is in Virgo will help you with magic meant to fight it off. It’s a good time for banishing, diminishing, decreasing and reversing health problems. Not the sniffles; big issues.

In fact, the whole week is good for seriously powerful banishing—not light-handed stuff, but for serious challenges. If you need to dissolve a partnership or sever a bad relationship, October 27 when the moon is in Libra can help you do it swiftly and smoothly.

If you have any massive, major destructive magic to do, there couldn’t be a better time this year for it than October 29th. That Saturday (remember, Saturday is Saturn’s day, and he is one scary God who rules over endings), the moon is in Scorpio. Combined with the Samhain season, this is some serious, explosive energy to work with… it is ideal for any big problems in your life to be brought to a screeching halt, for obstacles to be obliterated. It’s good timing if you’re trying to Break addictions. It’s perfect for breaking curses, or, if the situation calls for it, casting curses. It’s also great for bindings if circumstances are extreme and you feel it is warranted.

Again, I don’t mean minor stuff, like getting rid of the sniffles or getting an annoying old neighbor to stop playing her TV too loud at night. This is time for the BIG problems, to bring out the BIG guns, to bring the matter to an ABRUPT full stop. I wouldn’t use it for a nagging ex or annoying boss. I’m talking about serious problems, like ‘my rapist got off on a technicality and I’m afraid he’s coming after me’ kind of thing— or ‘my girlfriend is extremely suicidal and I need to bind her to keep her safe until medical treatment gets underway‘ sort of issues. This timing is for serious business for problems (or people) who need to be stopped as a matter of life and death.

Be super cautious with these energies, and if you’re a novice you might want to sit this weekend out! Blasting through brick-wall type obstacles with dynamite is sometimes necessary, but that kind of powerful explosive action can also result in people getting hurtsm (including yourself, if you aren’t careful). So if you’re planning any kinds of spells for this day, you have been warned.

Happy Samhain! From Sunset Oct. 30 through the 31st, it’s a prime time for magic involving divination & spirit communication. This would be the case anytime the new moon was in Scorpio on a Monday, but it’s doubly so because it is Samhain. This time of year the veil is thin, so take advantage of this powerful energy to increase your psychic and intuitive abilities, and to commune with ancestor spirits and guides.
